What this site knows about you.

The short version

Urban Savannah sets no cookies. It runs no analytics script, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker. There is no account to create and nothing to log in to.

One small exception, named here because the sentence above would otherwise be a lie: if you close the invitation to join The Savannah Brief, your browser remembers that you closed it, so it does not ask again. That is a single yes/no kept on your own device. It is not sent anywhere, it identifies nobody, and clearing your browser data erases it.

The only personal information this site asks for is information you hand over on purpose: an email address if you want The Savannah Brief; contact details if you write to us; or the name or nickname and words you choose to post in an Update conversation.

What a page loads when you open it

Every stylesheet, script and font here is served from the same place as the page itself. Nothing is fetched from a font network, an ad server or a tag manager.

Photographs are the exception worth naming. Some images on update and project pages are served from the website of the publisher who owns them, under the terms that publisher allows. When your browser draws one of those images it asks that publisher's server for the file, and their server sees the request the way it would if you had visited their site directly. Each image carries its source in the credit beneath it.

The links to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads and YouTube are ordinary links. No feed, button or player from those platforms is embedded in a page, so none of them see you here unless you click through.

The Savannah Brief

If you subscribe we keep the address you typed and the date you gave it. It is used to send The Savannah Brief and to reply if you write back. It is not sold, rented, traded, or handed to a sponsor. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes the address.

The list is not open yet. Until it is, the signup form says so when you press it and stores nothing.

If you write to us

Advertising forms are handled by the site's private form service. It stores the submission and emails Urban Atlanta so the team can reply. We keep what you type for as long as it takes to answer and to hold a record of the conversation. Nothing typed into a form is added to a mailing list unless you ask for that.

Update conversations

A comment asks only for a name or nickname and the comment itself. It enters a private moderation queue first. If approved, both are shown publicly beneath that Update with the submission date.

Do not put private information in a comment. Rejected comments are not shown publicly. The comments service uses short-lived request information to slow automated abuse; it does not create a reader profile or add commenters to an email list.

Server logs

Whoever hosts this site keeps ordinary web server logs: the address that made the request, the page asked for, the time, and the browser string. Those exist to keep the site up and to spot abuse. They are not joined to anything else and are not used to build a profile of you.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any issue and the address is gone. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, use the contact form and say so.

Changes to this page

A change that matters gets a new date at the top. This is the first version.
