The mixed-use Starland Village development at 2213 Bull Street picked seven local muralists for its first Starland Soul Mural Fest, with the works going up October 28 through November 6 and a public celebration on the final day. The Foram Group project put 116 apartments and artist studios into two buildings flanking a historic church, and the murals are meant to tie the new construction into the district's arts identity.
The first large piece, a Georgia scene with a sweetbay magnolia and a brown thrasher, is already up, painted by Sam Malpass of Badway Creative.
