Chef Anne Quatrano, the James Beard Award winner behind Bacchanalia and Star Provisions, opened Summerland on July 25 as the anchor restaurant of Upper West Market, the adaptive reuse of a 97,000-square-foot warehouse complex at 1385 Collier Road in Underwood Hills.
Developer Robles Partners and architect ASD/SKY converted the two-building complex into an indoor farmers market with more than 20 vendor stalls; Upper West Market itself opened in stages starting with an April ribbon-cutting and a May grand opening. Summerland runs breakfast and lunch daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. under executive chef Faye Poon, a longtime Quatrano collaborator from Bacchanalia and Floataway Cafe, with an afternoon tea service planned for fall 2026.
Why it matters
It is the clearest signal yet that Upper West Market's food-hall bet is complete: the highest-profile chef in the lineup is now open.
