Hal's The Steakhouse, the longtime Buckhead institution, is opening a second Atlanta location inside the Patterson House, the 24,000-square-foot former H.M. Patterson & Son funeral home at Portman's Spring Quarter development in Midtown. Architect Philip Shutze designed the 1928 building, which handled funerals for prominent Atlantans until it closed in 2020.
Owner Sammy Jimenez plans a steakhouse with a patio, a European-style cafe, and a fine art gallery on the second floor, targeting a spring 2027 opening.
