Portman, long known for downtown towers and Coda-scale office, opened Meadow Glen Village in Fairburn, its first suburban multifamily project. The community has 332 one- and two-bedroom apartments across nine mid-rise buildings, plus about 12,000 square feet of neighborhood retail wrapped around a central town green.
Ameris Bank provided a $46.6 million construction loan. The project broke ground in 2025 and is delivering into a south-metro suburb that has drawn steady rooftops as Fulton County growth pushes south.
Why it matters
It marks a downtown-focused developer chasing households to the exurban edge, the same outward drift ARC's housing strategy warns is putting homes far from where the jobs are.
