Trademark Property Company, a Fort Worth firm with more than 30 years developing and operating mixed-use districts including Galleria Dallas and Annapolis Town Center, took over management, leasing and operations of Atlantic Station on Aug. 1. The new general manager, Sean McIntosh, previously worked at Atlantic Station as assistant general manager from 2006 to 2013 and spent a decade at mall giant GGP before that.
Trademark says it will hire a senior asset manager based in Atlanta, meet with tenants and neighborhood groups in the coming weeks, and launch a community survey asking what should change at the 138-acre former steel-mill site. The move follows a stretch of high-profile vacancies and complaints about upkeep at the retail district.
Why it matters
New management is the clearest signal yet that Atlantic Station's ownership recognizes the property has a problem worth fixing.
